Card games after the round are an almost essential element of any successful golf trip. Study up on these and bring some variety to the table.
Card Game of the Week: Six Back
Six cards dealt. After the first betting round, each player draws as per normal Draw game rules. The exception is that each player draws one less card than they discard. This means that if a player wants three new cards, he is going to have to discard four cards out of his hand. If a player wants to discard three cards, then he is only going to get two cards back.
With each player drawing one less card than he or she receives, every player will now have a five card hand. A final betting round ensues and the best five card hand wins. This allows players to get better hands and hopefully, stay in longer, compensating for only two betting rounds.
Drinking games may or may not be your thing but nothing helps to get the party started faster.
Drinking Game of the Week: Horse Races
Take all Aces, Kings and Queens out of the deck, that should be 12 cards total. Arrange the kings and queens so that they make a straight line. The horses are represented by aces, which are lined up in a row, beginning at the first card in the line. Everyone picks there horse by picking a suit.
Now that the game is set up, turn over the first card in the deck. If the suit is diamond then the diamond horse advances one, and all others must drink. Once a horse moves past the last King or Queen (the eighth card) in line they win and get to give out an additional 8 drinks.
